.: Final Fantasy XII - Ivalice's History

When you kill beasts in Final Fantasy XII, their information is added to the Beatiary in your Clan Primer. Kill enough, and additional information about the history of places, people, great events and tales are revealed. This page contains all those texts.

Mysteries of the Ancients (#1) [From enemy: Dead Bones]
Why did the ancients perish? Given what we know of their strength and power as a race, it is difficult to fathom.

The level of technology and magickal potency exhibited by their relics are, in many ways, far superior to our own. So, why did they die? Could it be that, for all our preparations, a similar fate awaits us? To solve this riddle, it is imperaive that we study what ancient bones are left to us, and thereby shed light upon a past which may predict our future.

Mysteries of the Ancients (#1) [From enemy: Wild Saurian]
One of the singular problems in clearing new land is, surprisingly enough, the removal of monstrous bones, they being far more resistant to wear, and far heavier, than those of men.

The worst of these by far are tyrant bones.

Though they too will erode over the ages, their weight and strength are most uncommon, and even the hottest flame will leave no mark upon them.

To expect anything less from such a bone would be to forget the awesome might of the tryrant from whence it came.
